The exhibit “Heart of the Barrio/ Corazón del Barrio” at La Casita reflects on the 10-year journey of a creative Latinx community of scholars, artists, community organizers, educators, and students on and off the Syracuse University campus. This hybrid (in-person/virtual) opening reception includes a guided tour of the exhibit, a collection of photos, video, memorabilia, and personal narratives, with live performances by spoken word artist Noel Quiñones; a guitar and violin duo featuring Sara Silva and Liamna Pestana, and salsa sounds from Westside musicians, Grupo Boricua.

This event is part of Syracuse Symposium’s year-long series on “Conventions.”
