Celebrating April as National Poetry Month, the departments of History, Creative Writing, English, Languages, Literatures and Linguistics, Native American and Indigenous Studies, Women's and Gender Studies, and Democratizing Knowledge host readings and Q&A with Palestinian poet, Yahya Ashour.

Ashour has authored a poetry collection and children’s book. His short stories have been anthologized and published in newspapers and magazines in Palestine and internationally. His writings have been translated into English, French, Spanish, Italian, and Finnish. He has taught creative writing and literacy skills to children and adults, making connections between his creative and artistic work and public humanities.
