Joe Kickasola (Baylor University)

Joe Kickasola, author of Films of Krzysztof Kieslowski: The Liminal Image (Continuum, 2004) and a number of articles in Quarterly Review of Film and Video, Journal of Moving Image Studies, and editor of several forthcoming anthologies focused on the cinema as it intersects with epistemology, religion, and metaphysics, is known particularly for his work on Terence Malick and Andrei Tarkovsky. In this public lecture, Prof. Kickasola will share new research on the religious function of silence in the films of Tarkovsky and Alejandro Iñáritu.
