Turning your First Major Publication into a Book (and Finding a Publisher!): Where to Begin

Time: 11 a.m. May 26 - noon May 25

Location: virtual

Peggy Solic (Acquisitions Editor, Syracuse University Press)

Turning your dissertation into a book and finding someone to publish it can seem like an overwhelming task! In this session we’ll take a collective deep breath and talk about how to tackle revising your dissertation into a manuscript, finding the right press for your work, and how to approach an acquisitions editor.

Bonus opportunities: The first 10 registrants will receive a complimentary copy of William Germano’s From Dissertation to Book, Second Edition. All attendees will be entered in a raffle to receive a half-hour book proposal consultation with Solic.

This is the first of a two-part (morning/afternoon) series. [Learn more about Part II.] Both sessions are open to any interested faculty, staff, and graduate students, with particular focus on the humanities.
