Dialogue on Indigenous Philosophies of Sustainability and Climate

Huambachano and Whyte join Watene to discuss the role of Indigenous philosophies, leadership, and diplomacy in global justice and policy development agendas. Moderated by Medak-Saltzman, conversation draws from Whyte’s work with the White House Office of Domestic Climate Policy, Watene’s service on the UN Human Development Reports and International Science Council’s Committee for Freedom and Responsibility in Science), and Huambachano’s work with the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) and service on the UN High-Level Panel Experts on Food Security and Nutrition of the Committee on World Food Security.
This dialogue (3:00-4:30pm) closes Watene's two-week visit to Syracuse, followed by a celebratory reception (4:30-6:00).
