Syracuse University Press welcomes acclaimed author Ibtisam Azem, writer of The Book of Disappearance (longlisted for the 2025 International Booker Prize), and her translator Sinan Antoon.
Sevinç Türkkan (Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition) facilitates this translation workshop exploring the creative, linguistic, and cultural negotiations involved in rendering Arabic into English. Laura Fish, director of the Middle East Literature in Translation Series at SU Press, discusses the legal and practical aspects of publishing translated works.
