National Douglass Day - 2026

DDay2026_600p

Time: Feb. 13, 2026, noon - 2 p.m.

Location: 304 Tolley Humanities Building

The Syracuse Humanities Center provides a local outlet for celebrating National Douglass Day with its 2026 theme, "All Rights for All: Equality and the Colored Conventions Movement.”

Partnering with Zooniverse, a people-powered crowdsourcing platform, participants across the country -- and right here at SU -- will transcribe materials related to hundreds of historic Colored Conventions, a collection of documents and debates still as relevant as ever in today's fight to secure and preserve civil rights.

Stop by the Humanities Center (bring your laptop!) to help us honor and preserve Black history.
