Safia Elhillo's writing sits at the intersections of African and Arab explorations of humanistic themes such as immigration, displacement, and home. Jointly presented by the Black Arab Relationalities Initiative (BARI), Women's and Gender Studies, and English, Elhillo's visit inspires a celebration of artistic efforts to explore such themes and create connections and solidarities across distinct and overlapping histories, communities, and geographies -- themes that are central to humanistic research and inquiry.
